About The Event

ABC Evenings are Diploma-level short seminars on various topics and are open to all.

Modern society draws much of its culture from the rationalism and apparent power of science and the “Enlightenment”. This series of seminars will examine the roots of the Western version of this important phenomenon. We will look at developments in art (lots of pretty pictures) and major ideas as well as key Christian responses which give us clues for effective mission in an often-sceptical world.

April 21      Old Light for “Dark Ages”:  Rediscovering the Ancient World

April 28      Inventing the Self: Art and the Individual in the Renaissance

May 5         The Rational Self: Relocating truth vs a Christian Mind

May 12      The Material Self: No need for God?
